An op-ed published on April 16, 2024 in the Detroit Free Press, written by Roger Rapoport.

Rapoport hosted a recently published, four-part podcast interview with Beyond Nuclear’s radioactive waste specialist, Kevin Kamps, a 32-year watchdog on the Palisades atomic reactor. The podcast series, with additional episodes planned featuring other guests, is entitled “The Reactor Next Door.”

Rapoport’s op-ed quotes Dr. Mark Jacobson of Stanford University, one of our environmental coalition’s expert witnesses in their campaign to block the Palisades zombie reactor restart. Jacobson is an internationally renowned climate mitigation and renewable energy, energy storage, and energy efficiency expert.

See a compilation of Beyond Nuclear web posts about the Palisades zombie reactor restart scheme, as well as Holtec’s “Small Modular Reactor” new builds scheme at Palisades and its sibling reactor site, Big Rock Point. The compilation of web posts dates back to April 2022, when Governor Whitmer first floated the reactor restart trial balloon, and Holtec CEO Krishna Singh first floated the trial balloon of SMR new builds at Palisades.
