Iran’s right to the bomb?
Which countries are allowed to have nuclear weapons? The nuclear-armed nations say only they are. This includes Israel, which is officially an “undeclared” atomic state, even though the UN General Assembly adopts a resolution every year asking Israel to disarm. Iran says it is abiding by the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty but the US and Israel bombed its nuclear facilities (see map) just to make sure. Now the Trump administration is trying to renegotiate a deal that would stop Iran making the bomb, even though there was a perfectly good agreement in place already that the Trump blew up in May 2018. And he sent his beachfront greedy son-in-law to Oman last week as one of his negotiators. The talks will reportedly continue.
