“Global large-scale solar capacity surpassed 1-TWac in 2025 as the world added more than 200-GW of new utility-scale solar PV capacity, marking the second consecutive year that the world exceeded this threshold of new utility-scale solar additions. According to figures published by Wiki-Solar, which breaks down the addition of new utility-scale capacity (defined as larger than 4-MW) by region, the world’s 33 largest utility-scale solar markets had a cumulative capacity of 1,008-GWac by the end of last year. These countries represent around 92% of the world’s total.”
