We must eliminate nuclear weapons

Day of Elim NW_UN_CC

Today, September 26, as it is every year, is the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons. As we see nuclear sabers rattling once again with the Russia-Ukraine war seemingly poised on a nuclear knife-edge, it is time to renew our call for the elimination of weapons capable of destroying all life on earth.

Our colleagues at NuclearBan.US have put out an alert urging those of us in the United States to call on our Member of Congress to sign the ICAN Pledge and support the Norton Bill. (Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton of Washington, DC, has introduced a bill in every session of Congress since 1994, on behalf of her constituents, calling for the abolition of nuclear weapons.)

The United Nations General Assembly decided in 2013 to step up the global demand for nuclear disarmament by designating Sept 26th every year to be the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons. The world wants nothing short of total elimination of these dangerous, outdated weapons of mass destruction. That includes the American people.

Please write to your Member of Congress today. NuclearBan.US provides the details on how, here.
