NUCLEAR POWER
Reactor Status
New reactor construction remains plagued by uncontrolled completion costs and grossly unreliable completion dates. Existing nuclear power stations are economically failing in an electricity market now dominated by more competitive wind energy and solar power. As operating power reactors age, they require more costly inspections, maintenance, repairs and backfits that continue to drive costs up and economic pressure to permanent closure without mounting taxpayer and ratepayer subsidization. Using the buttons below, Beyond Nuclear provides the current status of all U.S. reactors.
