Libbe HaLevy interviewed Beyond Nuclear’s radioactive waste specialist Kevin Kamps on January 16, 2026, regarding the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) denial of a writ of certiorari for Beyond Nuclear to challenge adverse rulings by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit regarding the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s license approval for Holtec’s highly radioactive waste consolidated interim storage facility scheme in New Mexico.

The interview was published on January 20, 2026. It begins at the 22 minute 45 second mark, and ends at the 45 minute 27 second mark of the recording.

Each American should take action, by contacting their U.S. Rep. and both U.S. Senators. Educate them on why CISFs are dangerously bad. Urge them not to cave to the nuclear lobbyists. Urge them not to legalize CISFs. You can use Beyond Nuclear’s series of related fact sheets to do so. This fact sheet in particular focuses on the Environmental Justice violations associated with CISFs, as does our short educational video.
