Nuclear felon in charge of construction of VC Summer nuclear reactor debacle to be sentenced, Feb. 22, 2023

If you’re interested in what happens to the felons who perpetrated fraud in the failed project to construct two AP1000 nuclear reactors in South Carolina, a sentencing date in federal court in Columbia, SC for the first SCANA felon charged – Stephen Byrne, former VP of SCANA – has been set for February 22, 2023. Unfortunately, in the past it has appeared he will get no prison time as he ratted on fellow felons and may only have to pay a $1 million fine. The SCANA CEO got two years in prison and is scheduled for release from the prison at Fort Dix, NJ in August 2023.  If you know any media that might be interested in the Feb. 22 hearing, please pass this on.

[SCANA went bankrupt due to the nuclear reactor boondoggle and got snapped up by Dominion Energy. As part of a state court settlement, small checks are now being sent out to Dominion rate payers to refund pennies they paid for the project. See news report on those checks linked here.]
