Iran: Limited nuclear inspections to resume?

Inspections of Iran’s nuclear facilities, which were heavily attacked by the US and Israel in June, could resume under a new agreement struck this week between Tehran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

But Iran has also warned that the deal is provisional and limited and will not proceed if sanctions are re-imposed. Since the US/Israeli attacks, the true extent of the damage, as well as the whereabouts of nuclear materials that might have survived or been moved before the bombing, has remained unknown.

Meanwhile, expansion activities recently observed by satellite at Israel’s nuclear weapons complex at Dimona remain clouded in mystery as Israel is not an officially declared nuclear weapon state and refuses all inspections.
