Subject: Response to Comments on NPDES Permit No. MI0001457; Designated Name: Palisades Power Plant

Good morning,

Thank you for your comments and input regarding the issuance of NPDES Permit No. MI0001457 for Palisades Power Plant.  The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy shares your concern for the quality of Michigan’s surface waters and groundwaters and your desire to protect them.  We are committed to providing the best possible protection of our state’s water resources and appreciate the opportunity to consider and respond to your comments.

Please see the attached Responsiveness Summary and final NPDES Permit No. MI0001457.  Several public comments led to the draft permit being revised prior to issuance, and when this was the case, it is noted in the Responsiveness Summary.

The permit was issued June 27, 2025, and will soon be available through the Site Map Explorer component of the MiEnviro Portal, online at Home – MiEnviro Portal (michigan.gov).

Thank you,
