TRANSATLANTIC DIALOGUE

Transatlantic Dialogue is an initiative that joins activists primarily from North America and the United Kingdom in discussion about nuclear power and nuclear weapons. Join the conversation on Tuesday, May 26 when Linda Pentz Gunter of Beyond Nuclear explores the stories in her book — No To Nuclear. Why Nuclear Power Destroys Lives, Derails Climate Progress And Provokes War — with Mary Beth Brangan and Morgan Peterson of Ecological Options Network, makers of the film, San Onofre Syndrome; and Welsh Anti-Nuclear Alliance coordinator, Richard Outram. In both North America and the UK, a nuclear “fever” has infected politicians who ignore where the source materials for nuclear power come from and the toll taken along the entire uranium chain, as well as the costs, delays and dangers.

NIGHT WITH THE EXPERTS

How do we talk about nuclear power so everyone can understand it? Too often, the issue is discussed only in terms of science, technology, economics and statistics. The facts are essential but what’s missing is the human face on the story. In writing her book,  No To Nuclear. Why Nuclear Power Destroys Lives, Derails Climate Progress And Provokes War , Linda Pentz Gunter endeavors to explore different ways of telling the nuclear story, from the perspective of the people — and sometimes the animals — to whom it happens. Join her on Night With The Experts, hosted by Nuclear Energy Information Service, May 28, 8pm EDT, to explore different ways of messaging the issue through compelling, visual and narrative-driven frames that might resonate with wider audiences.
