New Book by Professor Mark Jacobson, “No Miracles Needed: How Today’s Technology Can Save Our Climate and Clean Our Air.”

Here is the link to watch the Samuel Lawrence Foundation First Friday Series webinar [1 hour:22 minutes:43 seconds], which aired live March 3, 2023 features Stanford University Professor Mark Jacobson who talks about his new book, “No Miracles Needed: How Today’s Technology Can Save Our Climate and Clean Our Air.”   Prof. Jacobson’s roughly 35 minute presentation starts at time mark 00:05:17 through 00:40:34 followed by  an extensive Q&A session.

Professor Jacobson is an distinguished author, professor of civil and environmental engineering and Director of the Atmosphere/Energy Program at Stanford University.  Jacobson’s central message for addressing 21st Century energy policy and an accelerating global climate crisis is:

“We do not need miracle technologies to solve these problems. By electrifying all energy sectors; producing electricity from clean, renewable sources; creating heat, cold, and hydrogen from such electricity; storing electricity, heat, cold and the hydrogen; expanding transmission; and shifting the time of some electricity use, we can create safe, cheap, and reliable energy everywhere.”
