More (nuclear) fool’s gold
Yet another “golden” nuclear con job has been announced, this time in the UK. During Trump’s recent state visit to Britain the UK government announced its “Golden Age of Nuclear” deal between the two countries. But it is anything but. Laden with hyped-up Trumpian rhetoric about nuclear and energy “dominance”, it promises working class jobs and “energy independence,” but is instead another bonanza for predominantly US corporations and their unproven and unlicensed reactor designs. What it does ensure is more costly delays in tackling the climate crisis instead of funding genuine remedies.
