Atomic Cover-Up on Nuclear Hotseat

Atomic Cover-Up

This week on Nuclear Hotseat, Libbe HaLevy interviews documentary film director, Greg Mitchell about his new film, Atomic Cover-Up, an award-winning documentary available for free at the International Uranium Film Festival until May 29. Atomic Cover-Up shows  film that was shot in the immediate aftermath of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and was classified ‘top secret’ for more than 25 years. And Libbe talks to Susi Snyder, ICAN’s financial sector coordinator and principle author of  the Don’t Bank on the Bomb project, an invaluable guide to nuclear divestment.

And finally, Linda Pentz Gunter’s Hot Story looks at how politicians who support nuclear energy are betraying their constituents by squandering taxpayer money on nuclear projects that will deliver few jobs to locals, if ever, and waste time and money better spent on stimulating jobs in fast-growing sectors like renewable energy.
