Radiation Trainwreck: Is NRC deregulating radiation standards?
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission released to the public yesterday its draft proposed rule (PR), allowing more radiation exposure. The PR is not published in the Federal Register (FR) as of this writing (12:15 PM ET), meaning the public must prepare comments now for submission in the future. We will announce when the PR is officially published. The PR would allow greater exposures “just to save the nuclear industry money,” says Ed Lyman, Union of Concerned Scientists. For help preparing your comments please watch the Coalition to Stop Radioactive Pollution’s webinar. Join the Coalition and the Protect Better Campaign. Attend a comment writing workshop July 7. Push back against this radiation trainwreck and health onslaught. More
